Event: 12th Annual Kicks for Guns-2010

Summary:
STOP THE VIOLENCE and get a new pair of tennis shoes OR a gift card (while they last) for unwanted guns. NO QUESTIONS ASKED!

This year the Orlando Police Department along with eight other agencies are partnering with Real Radio 104.1’s Monsters, and 102.JAMZ to sponsor the 12th Annual Kicks for Guns-2010.

The Kicks for Guns event will take place on Friday, August 20, 2010. Individuals can exchange an unloaded firearm for a pair of new tennis shoes or a gift card (while they last).

Those wishing to participate can drop off a gun at the Downtown Recreation Center, 649 W. Livingston Street. Drop off times are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Important Reminder: **All firearms should be unloaded and safely secured in a paper bag. For safety reasons, if you cannot unload the weapon safely prior to your arrival, please leave the weapon in a paper bag locked in the vehicle and an officer will escort you to retrieve the weapon.
