Officer of the Year
2009

Officer Finley Johnson was selected as 2009 Officer of the Year for the Orlando
Police Department. The 45 year old officer has been with the Orlando Police
Department since December 2007. He has a tremendously high level of initiative
and productivity. Officer Johnson is amongst the top performers for all patrol
officers in calls for service, traffic contacts and total arrests. His
commitment to policing has helped to reduce violent crime in the northwest
sector of Orlando. Officer Johnson understands the importance of community
service in making a difference in the lives of the youth of Orlando. He
volunteers his own time as a Mentor in Operation Positive Direction, an Orlando
Police Department Youth Mentoring Program. Officer Johnson's character and
attitude is to be emulated. He is professional and courteous in his many
contacts with the public and represents the citizens of Orlando in a
professional manner.
