The Green-Up Orlando program was created in 1985 to increase the City's
available tree canopy and to improve the appearance of our community. The
program is designed to
stimulate improvements to public places in neighborhoods
through volunteer efforts and contributions.
Green-Up Orlando encourages citizens and groups to plant trees and shrubs,
beautify their neighborhoods, raise public awareness and pride in Orlando, "The
City Beautiful," and promote the benefits of volunteer efforts in partnership
with the City. Corporations, civic organizations, schools, faith based
organizations, scout troops, neighborhood associations and families are
encourage to participate in Orlando’s favorite “Green” volunteer program! To

The Parks Division has used volunteers to:
Beautify neighborhoods, schools and other public areas
through Green-Up design and plantings.
Educate school kids on the importance of caring for
their facilities through their own volunteer efforts.
Work
with neighbors and volunteer
groups to enhance various
parks throughout the City
Volunteers help the Park's Division provide the highest
level of service with the most efficient use of the citizen's tax dollars. In
addition, this allows our citizens, local school children, scout troops and
corporations to work together, building a strong camaraderie and future
fellowships.
