Commissioner Patty Sheehan and Local Businesses
to Give Thanksgiving Turkeys to 180 Families in Reeves
Terrace
ORLANDO, FL (November 23, 2009) – Orlando City
Commissioner Patty Sheehan, partnering with Baker
Barrios Architects, GAI Consultants, Inc. and Urban Life
Management Restaurants, will be giving away Thanksgiving
turkeys to over 180 families living in the Reeves
Terrace public housing community. The frozen turkeys
will be distributed on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, from
4:30pm until 6:30pm at the Reeves Terrace Neighborhood
Recreation Center at 150 McJordan Avenue. Commissioner
Sheehan has partnered with her corporate sponsors for
the past several years to give 10-12 pound turkeys to
each family living in Reeves Terrace.
Baker
Barrios Architects, GAI Consultants, Inc. and Urban Life
Management Restaurants and their principles have been
constant supporters of Commissioner Sheehan’s efforts to
help her constituents living in public housing. Through
their financial support, they are also responsible for
ensuring the children living in Reeves Terrace receive a
brand new bicycle for Christmas as part of Commissioner
Sheehan’s annual Wheels for Kids event in December.
“November 26th is a day to give thanks and to help
those who are in need,” Commissioner Sheehan said. “All
of the sponsors and I can’t think of a better way to say
thanks to our community for all it has given us than to
help make sure those who truly need our help can enjoy a
Thanksgiving dinner with their loved ones.”
Representatives of the sponsoring corporate partners
will join Commissioner Sheehan as they deliver the
gobblers to the families in front of the Reeves Terrace
Recreation Center. Recipes will also be provided to the
families with suggestions on how to turn the frozen fowl
into a mouth-watering Thanksgiving Day main course.
