Pottery Studio Classes


Painting on Silk with Annemarie Guzman
Mondays, June 3 – July 24
Time: 6-9pm
Cost: $85 includes materials

Annemarie will guide you through the painterly process of painting on silk. Create unique scarves that will embellish your wardrobe.


“Tiles with a Modern Twist” with Susan Bach
Fridays, June 14 – July 19
Time: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Cost: $100 (includes materials)

Use unique and easy techniques to decorate tiles in a modern version of the American Arts and Crafts Movement. Begin with simple slab structure of tiles and then incise, carve, under glaze, over glaze, and practice glaze layering for beautiful color and design. Gain tips and tricks for working with low-temp materials and take home a pile of tiles! Designed for beginning to intermediate students, this class focuses solely on hand building. This class is limited to 8 students. Clay and tools are available for purchase.


Demystifying Glazing with Jane Skinner & Jack Toepke
Tuesdays, June 4- July 9
4 –6:30 p.m. Cost: $95

Jane & Jack will be teaming up to share their wealth of knowledge about glaze applications. They will be teaching dipping, spraying, and an assortment of glazing tips in all temperature ranges to enable folks to be successful in the final process of creating pottery. Students must bring a minimum of 6-10 pieces of bisque ware. The class is limited to 10 participants with glaze materials & firing included.


“Basic Hand Build Techniques” with Annemarie Guzman
Tuesdays, June 4 – July 9
6 – 9 p.m. Cost: $95

Annemarie will walk you step by step through the hand building techniques. You will learn the process of creating pottery using coils and slab, decorating and glazing. If you are a beginner this is an excellent place to start to make useable objects for your home. Clay and tools are available for purchase.


“Hand Building Made Easy” with Jane Skinner
Thursdays, June 6 – July 18
Times: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 1 – 4 p.m.
Cost: $95

Jane will help you make easy and creative hand building projects using simple techniques including slab and coil construction. You’ll produce unique clay objects that will function in your kitchen and home. Clay and tools are available for purchase.


“Expand your Throwing Skills” with Susan Vey
Tuesdays, June 4 – July 18
6 – 9 p.m. Cost: $95
Thursdays, June 6 – July 11
10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Cost: $95

This class focuses on gaining skills to throw taller and more complex pieces. We will also work on basic shaping and finishing techniques as
well as adding embellishments and other simple decorative elements to develop pots with your personal style.

Begin your exploration of the infinite number of possible shapes you can create on the potter’s wheel. Clay and tools are available for purchase. The class is limited to 8 students.


“Fundamentals of Wheel Throwing” with Jack Toepke
Thursdays, June 6 – July 18
6 - 9 p.m. Cost: $95

Jack will be teaching beginning to advanced wheel throwing techniques. Learn all the basic principles of making pottery on the wheel. Previous hand building experience is helpful. Clay and tools as are available for purchase. The class is limited to 8 students.


“Wheel throwing 101” with Jane Skinner
Fridays, June 7 – July 12
Times: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Cost: $95

Beginners to intermediate will benefit with the one on one instruction to learn the craft of wheel throwing. Previous hand building experience is helpful. Clay and tools are available for purchase. The class is limited to 8 students.

Come join the adventure of making cool pottery and art projects. Children ages 6 – 14 years will be successful and have fun making the imaginative creations.

The Art Extravaganza
August 24, 1 – 3 p.m.
will conclude the summer clay & art workshops. An art show & ice cream social at Orlando’s City Hall following the completion of the camps.


Family Night Pottery
Wednesdays, 6 - 7:30 p.m.

Would you like to play in the mud? Bring your kids and have a creative family experience making cool clay projects. The one night class includes all materials and firing fees Adults $10 and Kids $5 each. Children must be at least 6 years old and completed kindergarten to participate. Call to reserve your space!
