5th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Kick Off
Celebrating History, Heritage and the American Dream

On Thursday, September 15, 2011, the City of Orlando celebrated its fifth annual Hispanic Heritage Month Kick Off event in the City Hall rotunda at 5 p.m. Hispanic Heritage month runs from September 15 to October 15 and coincides with the anniversary of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua declaring their independence in 1821 as well as the independence days of Mexico, Chile and Belize. Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity to remind us of the contributions Hispanics have made to our community and nation.

The City of Orlando recognizes the important role our Hispanic community plays and continues to reach out to Hispanic residents through our Hispanic Office of Local Assistance (HOLA). Located at 595 North Primrose Drive, the HOLA Office provides Hispanic residents with information about our community and services, as well as access to computers.
