Jobs

Mayor Dyer and the City Council have viewed the Community Venues project as an opportunity to make a significant and long-term, positive impact on the local neighborhoods.

This historic project provides the City with an opportunity to connect residents with jobs and local businesses with contracts to build these Venues. The City of Orlando has committed to a BLUEPRINT that will serve as a framework and model for inclusiveness and community building throughout the various levels of contracting. Special emphasis will be made to ensure that maximum opportunities are awarded to local, small and disadvantaged businesses, as well as minorities and women, in the areas of job creation and training, business development and the procurement of goods, professional and construction services in association with the construction of the new Venues.

HOW DO I GET A JOB??

Visit the Community Venues BLUEPRINT Employment Office at 1200 West South Street, Orlando, FL, 32805 (office hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday). The office can also be reached by calling 407.246.3721.

Job seekers’ interests and needs will be assessed here.

If job seekers need apprenticeships, they may be referred to the appropriate apprentice preparation class/program. Those seeking temporary employment will be referred to the appropriate temporary agencies.

Those who are seeking non-Venues or non-construction jobs may be referred to Workforce Central Florida. Only construction jobs (temporary and permanent) are being filled at this time through the BLUEPRINT Employment Office. The Amway Center began hiring construction workers in September 2008. We will advise residents when workers will be needed for the Dr. P. Phillips Performing Center and the Citrus Bowl.
