Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Day

Orlando Police Chief Val Demings joined Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings for the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Day service on May 6. The day recognizes the dangers of serving as a law enforcement officer and honors those who have died in the line of duty. Each year, there is an average of 60,000 assaults on officers and an average of 160 officers killed in the line of duty. The service was held at the Orange County Courthouse.
