Amway Center Officially Opens for the First Time as Mayor Dyer Delivers
State of Downtown Address

On 10/1/10 at 10:01 a.m. Orlando Mayor Buddy
Dyer, Orlando Magic President Alex Martins, Orlando City
Commissioners and other Central Florida leadership will open
the doors to the new Amway Center for the first time to the
public. Following a ceremonial ribbon cutting and building
dedication, the community will be invited into the lower
bowl for Mayor Dyer’s Annual State of Downtown Address. This
year, the State of Downtown is a free event so that the
entire Central Florida community can participate in this
historic day.

Friday, October 1, 2010
- 9:30 a.m. - Community Celebration on
Church Street in front of Amway Center
- 10:01 a.m. - Orlando Mayor Dyer,
Orange County Mayor Crotty and Alex Martins officially
cut the ribbon and open the doors to Amway Center.
After the doors open, attendees will be invited inside
the bowl for Dyer’s State of Downtown Address.
- Immediately following the State of
Downtown Address, Mayor Dyer and Alex Martins will lead
a media tour throughout the entire Amway Center. *Media
must confirm attendance in order to participate.
