FOR IMMEDIATE
RELEASE:
Orlando, Florida: October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This month provides an excellent opportunity for the communities in Orlando to demonstrate its support in ending Domestic Violence to the numerous victims who are among us. Moreover, it is a wonderful opportunity to educate the public on the seriousness of Domestic Violence and the prevalence of this epidemic in our communities. The Orange County Domestic Violence Task Force in partnership with the Orlando Police Department will be hosting the First Annual Break The Silence Charity Walk Against Domestic Violence. The proceeds will go to the Orange County Domestic Violence Task Force to continue working in local areas to educate and provide outlets for families who have been impacted by Domestic Violence. The event will take place October 10, 2009, at Lake Eola in downtown Orlando. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Northeast
corner of Lake Eola (in front of the Panera Bread Restaurant) and the
walk starts at 9:00 a.m. All local communities and businesses are
encouraged to participate. We appreciate your support of National
Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the ending of domestic violence.
If you or your business would like to get involved and help “Break the
Silence”, please contact Lacey Lewis at Llewis@sao9.org or Michelle
Latham at Mlatham@sao9.org. |
