Orlando,
FL – October 23, 2008 – Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer changed his
traditional voting routine today to take advantage of early
voting at the Downtown Public Library location, along with
members of the League of Women Voters of Orange County. Photos
are attached. Mayor Dyer and the League are urging all voters to
consider early or absentee voting for a number of reasons:
- convenience of voting when and where they
want to
- to ensure any questions of registration
or address or signature are cleared up in a timely manner
before Nov. 4th
- for voters who have recently moved, to
avoid the problem of voting in the wrong precinct, as anyone
can vote at any county early voting location
- although many early voting locations have
had long lines, the lines on Nov. 4th will likely be even
longer.
In addition, the Orange County Supervisor of
Elections says their office, at 119 W. Kaley St., has the
shortest lines and plenty of available parking for voters. Also,
mailing in a vote via an absentee ballot alleviates those long
lines. Voters can visit www.voteanywhere.org to find out about
absentee ballots, early voting, and information on the issues
from the League of Women Voters.
