Edgewater Drive/ Vassar Street Charrette On February 23rd, a
meeting was held where Orlando Transportation Engineering staff and
design consultant, HNTB, presented some ideas for potential intersection
changes at Edgewater Drive and Vassar Street. These changes are
merely ideas that are being explored as alternatives since many
residents have voiced concerns over vehicular and pedestrian safety in
this area. This was also a major theme that kept coming up during
the meetings of the Edgewater Drive Vision Task Force. But just to
be clear, these are just suggested ideas and nothing is set in stone.
Making no changes to the intersection is certainly an alternative as
well. Please take a look at the ideas below and let us know of
your suggestions/ ideas/ concerns, esp. if you live or work in this area
and frequently utilize this intersection.
