Artist Bio
Barbara Koepsell
“My subjects
are varied but most people associate me with florals as that
is really what motivates me the most. My florals are usually
vibrant and colorful. I like to think that each flower is a
delicate treasure showing just enough detail to bring out
its subtle nuance of its natural fluid lines and form.”
- Barbara Koepsell
Barbara Koepsell’s
childhood home near Washington, D.C. exposed the young
artist to numerous art galleries and cultural events within
the area. After her children were grown Barbara resumed her
artwork by studying oil painting with Lydia Quick at the
Gallery of Windermere. Barbara became versed in working with
acrylics, oil and pencil but she discovered that she prefers
creating watercolors most of all.
Her works have
been shown in many outdoor art shows throughout Central
Florida, as well as in Orlando City Hall, the Art Center of
St. Petersburg, FL, the University Club of Winter Park, the
Orlando International Airport, among other locations. Her
paintings are included in the private collections of patrons
located throughout the United States, England and Germany.
Barbara is
presently a member of the Central Florida Watercolor
Society; The Central Florida Art Association (President 2006
- 2007 and now Secretary); the National League of American
Pen Women, and the Florida Watercolor Society.
